I discovered the Strobist website a couple of weeks ago. The aim of the site "is about one thing: Teaching you how to use your small flashes, off camera, to get professional results". To see what's possible, see the related Flickr group.

I already had a Nikon SB-600 and bought a light stand, flash umbrella and some remote control flash controllers through ebay for less than A$150.

Today was my first serious attempt with my 2 boys (& wife off-camera) in our living room. The flash was about 1m at 45 degrees right and high. In post processing, I have vignetted the final photo.
