Mona Vale - 22 April 2012. First time to Mona Vale tidal pool with Jason, Stephen, Mykal, Grant and I. Not ideal conditions but a chance to see the location before we go back on a king tide when the pool is cut off from the beach.

First golden rays

The first golden rays of the day usually only last for a few minutes before the full sun. A sign to take final photos and pack up.

Going out last weekend reminded me that making images is only half the reason for waking up ridiculously early. The other half is watching the sunrise and having breakfast and sharing stories with friends that I wouldn't have met without photography.

Firstlight, Coalcliff

It's been 6 months since I posted on this blog. Early morning landscape sessions have been just as rare as I felt out of ideas and images started looking the same.

Chasing clouds

Sydney Harbour - 1 April 2011. Benson & Thao, Henry and I at Kirribilli.

Started photographing on a cloudless evening at Darling Harbour but started seeing clouds on the horizon when we walked to Observatory Hill. Moving quickly over the bridge, we got into position and had 20 minutes of perfect cloud cover.

North Narrabeen - 26 March 2011. Benson and I at the tidal pool at North Narrabeen on Saturday morning.

Looking south at the approaching storm clouds over Narrabeen, Collaroy and Long Reef. Huge adrenline rush standing on the corner of the tidal pool as the big surf swept past.

40km/hr Southwesterly winds and rain on a full tide at Turimetta. Lots of white water.
